In response to chancekaye's post below.I just want to add that the idea of this post isn't to finalize a "design" for a MIDI Smart Tool (I'm sure the Studio One developers can design this feature much better than I can) but to point out how a Smart Tool might work in the PRV and the benefits it might offer. That covers 95% of my PRV use cases in a single Smarter PRV tool, similar to what they did for audio. Alt+Click and drag a note or selection up/down to increase/decrease velocity.Click and drag a note (or selection) up or down to change the pitch of that note(s).Click and drag the edge of a note or range to the right or left to change the start or end position (i.e.Shift+Click and Drag to select non-consecutive ranges.Shift+Click to select non-consecutive notes.Ctrl+Click on a note to split it at that location.Alt+Click and drag to paint a series of notes.Single click to draw a note (if there is no note already in the area being clicked, if a note is clicked, see #1).Single click and drag to select one or more notes (no change).Single click a note to select it (no change). So 3.2 introduced a Smarter Tool for audio, but the same principal can be applied to MIDI editing in the PRV.įor the PRV, I'm imagining a Smarter Tool with functions like:
